English Camp for International Staff and Campers

The English Camp is an English language immersion camp established in Brazil with the purpose to motivate kids and teens between 5 to 17 years old to speak, practice and learn English.

Overview

An English speaking environment is created in order to make the campers feel like as if they were abroad. This is done by recruiting only camp counselors whose English level ranges from advanced to native speakers. We believe that spending some days in a place where they can have fun while listening and speaking in English, will increase the campers interest in using and learning the language. Therefore, the participants do not need to have a specific level of English. The wish to attend our camps provides enough learning and practicing opportunities for all levels of the language.

We want to provide to our campers an extremelly rich language camp experience and we believe that bringing people from all over the world, who speak English fluently as well will give them an unforgettable time. They will not only meet people from other countries and practice English but they will also be able to learn different cultures and hear other accents and approaches to spoken English.

It´s a volunteer experience for international camp counselors and a no-cost program for international guest campers.

ACA certification

In 1998, the English Camp was the first camp in South America to be accredited by the American Camp Association. We are A.C.A member since that.

The English Camp is also a member of the International Camping Fellowship, an organization that provides the exchange of staff among its members.

What we offer

The English Camp provides for International camp counselor and guest campers:

• An English Camp t-shirt
• An English Camp hat
• Arrival pick up service at the airport and transportation to the camp
• Room and full board

What we request

If you want to come to the English Camp as a camp counselor, you need to:

• Be over 18 years of age
• Have some camp experience as a camper or camp counselor
• Speak English fluently
• Be available for at least 15 days of camp
• Fill out all the paper work and provide all the documentation required prior to approval.
• Proof of international insurance policy

If you are interested to come to English Camp as a guest camper, you need to:

• Have between 12 to 16 years of age
• Speak English fluently
• Fill out all the paper work and provide all the documentation required prior to approval.
• Proof of international insurance policy
